Free Comic Book Day 2012!

FCBD comics are always a blast to put together; this year was no exception, as it includes two upcoming Enfant books that I’m real excited about, Tove Jansson’s Moomin Valley Turns Jungle and Anouk Ricard’s Anna & Froga.

11-7 at Librairie Drawn & Quarterly, 211 Bernard Ouest.

Kevin Huizenga’s Gloriana!!!

Watch for Gloriana in stores late June.

Yoshihiro Tatsumi’s Fallen Words. Fallen Words is a collection of eight stories inspired by the centuries-old Japanese storytelling tradition of rakugo. In fusing this comedic, performance-based art form with the visual language of manga, Tatsumi reaffirms that he is still one of the medium’s foremost innovators.

Anouk Ricard’s Anna & Froga, a hilarious contribution to the D+Q Enfant imprint. These stories are funny funny funny and the characters are as imperfect as real kids (or grown-ups). Ricard’s characters are sweet without being precious, and always eager to find an opportunity for a laugh at one another’s expense.
